Make sure you know the relationships of the nerves to the humerus. Note in particular the relationship of the axillary to the posterior neck of the humerus as it innervates the deltoid, note the radial n. relationship to the spiral groove on the posterior humerus, note the ulnar in the groove posterior to the medial epicondyle. You must appreciate how the nerves cross at the elbow and wrist.
Appreciate the clinical significance of a fracture of the humerus with a jagged posterior edge. Note the relationship of the dep brachial artery to the radial nerve in the spiral groove. Appreciate the clinical significance of a deep abrasion to the posterior medial elbow.
